The Heli Ski US Association recently held its annual meeting at Squaw Valley, CA on May 15-17, 2009. At this two day meeting the group of highly respected heli ski operator’s voted-in it’s Officers for the 2010 season.
President – Joe Royer, Ruby Mountain Helicopter Skiing
Joe and his wife Francie have pioneered heli skiing in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada for 32 years. Joe is the visionary behind Heli Ski US Association and has been the long standing President.
Vice President – Mark Baumgardner, Sun Valley Heli Ski
For 23 years Mark owned and operated the very first heli ski operation in the United States established in 1966. Recently, Sun Valley Heli Ski merged under a new adventure travel company Epicquest. Mark continues his leadership in both Sun Valley Heli Ski and Epicquest.
Secretary – Kevin Quinn, Points North Heli-Adventures
Kevin and his wife Jessica are owner/operators of Points North Heli and have been guiding their clients throughout the spectacular Chugach Mountains of Alaska for the past 12 years. They have been featured in the last 9 consecutive Warren Miller films. Heli-Ski US Association welcomes Kevin as our new Secretary.
Treasurer – Jon Shick, High Mountain Heli-Skiing
Jon began his career as a heli ski guide in Jackson Hole in the 1970’s and assumed co-ownership of the operation in 1995. Jon directs every aspect of High Mountain Heli-Skiing now entering its 36th year of operation. Jon formerly served as vice-president of Heli-Ski US Association.
Executive Director – Sigi Vogl, Sun Valley Heli Ski
In addition to election of officers, the heli ski association voted to continue with Sigi Vogl as Executive Director. Sigi has served in this capacity for the past 4 years. Sigi has a distinguished career in the outdoor ski and travel industry. Sigi is a licensed guide and seasoned climber.
